PM Rama extends International Workers’ Day greetings

TIRANA, May 1 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama extended greetings to Albanian workers, acknowledging their contribution to the country’s economy and society in a message marking the International Workers’ Day on Friday.

In a message published on social media, Rama praised the dedication of working people across Albania, saying he wished “every hardworking Albanian a successful day and meaningful work.”

International Workers’ Day, observed annually on May 1, is commemorated worldwide through rallies, marches, and events highlighting labor rights, fair wages, and working conditions.

In Albania, the occasion is traditionally marked by activities organized by labor groups and workers’ associations.

The day also serves as a reminder of the historic labor movements that helped secure key workers’ rights, including minimum wage protections, regulated working hours, paid leave, and workplace protections in cases of illness.
