TIRANA, April 29 /ATA/ At its most recent meeting, the Transparency Board set new ceiling prices for the trade of petroleum by-products, which are scheduled to take effect today at 11:30 a.m.
In accordance with the decision, the maximum retail price for gasoil compliant with the SSH EN 590 standard has been set at 203 lek per liter, while the wholesale price shall not exceed 191 lek per liter. This adjustment marks a decrease of 3 lek per liter.
Meanwhile, the ceiling price for gasoline has been set at 180 lek per liter for retail sales and 168 lek per liter for wholesale transactions, reflecting fluctuations in international markets and exchange rates.
The authorities have announced that the newly established prices will remain in force until the next meeting, at which point they will be reviewed in accordance with market developments. Furthermore, it has been emphasized that all retail and wholesale trading operators are obliged to comply with the decision.
In the event of violations, entities failing to comply with the established prices will face suspension of their activities. In an official clarification, the Board emphasized that, pursuant to Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026, the excise level remains at 100%, as the set prices are below the thresholds of 220 lek per liter for gasoil and 200 lek per liter for gasoline.
The competent institutions, including the respective line ministries, remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting consumers and upholding fair competition within the fuel market.
