Four-year training at Trauma Hospital: Junior doctors share their professional experience

TIRANA, April 27 /ATA/ The Ministry of Health and Social Protection on Monday shared the experiences of four junior medical specialists at the University Orthopedic Service of the University Trauma Hospital.

In a video released by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, it is highlighted that their professional experience brought together four junior doctors in both clinical and surgical development during their four years of intensive training.

According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, upon completing their specialization, they are equipped with the knowhow and preparation to provide high-quality healthcare in hospital institutions.

Kremantin Canaj states, “Throughout our four-year journey in the field of rheumatology–traumatology, we have grown professionally, not only in the clinical aspect but also in the surgical one.”

“These four years have been a unique experience at the Trauma Hospital, as it is the only tertiary center in our country offering services for polytrauma patients. We hope that this experience will continue to benefit us in the services we will provide to citizens,” stated Roxhers Muçaj.

Meanwhile, specialist-in-training Kevin Xhori emphasized that over these years, he has covered every aspect of the profession, including emergencies and the treatment of orthopedic pathologies, and is now fully prepared to provide high-quality service in the places where he will be employed.

“We have received substantial support from the department heads, who have assisted us in handling complex cases throughout these four years,” stated Glori Prifti.

Since the reinstatement of the long-term medical specialization program in 2015, a sustainable model has been implemented for the distribution of healthcare professionals nationwide, thereby enhancing healthcare services in both regional and municipal hospitals.

Specialist-in-training doctors contracted with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for a four-year training period will receive 80% of a specialist doctor’s salary. However, those specializing in priority fields such as “family medicine” and “emergency medicine” will receive 100% of the specialist salary.
