TIRANA, March 18 /ATA/ As part of the inspection reform, the General Inspectorate held its latest meeting today with the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection (IKMT), along with representatives from its central and regional structures.
General Inspector Dashnor Sula emphasized that inspection system reform is a top priority, highlighting zero tolerance towards land abuse or threats to public safety, with immediate legal action for any violations.
He also placed particular emphasis on the quality of construction work, warning of strict measures against any case of using under-standard concrete or reinforcement steel that fails to meet technical requirements.
Sula stated that any such abuse poses a direct risk to citizens’ lives and as such will be met with zero tolerance through stepped up inspections and immediate penalties.
The reform emphasizes risk-based inspections, nationwide standardization, and the right to appeal to ensure targeted oversight, consistent enforcement, and fairness in the inspection process.
During the meeting, IKMT leadership commended the collaboration with the General Inspectorate and underscored their commitment to enhancing inspection capabilities and optimizing field operations in accordance with the standards established under the new reform.
During the event, new initiatives were also presented as part of the reform. Notably, it was announced that the “sigurt.gov.al” portal will soon be launched—a dedicated platform for reporting legal violations related to inspection areas. The portal will allow citizens and businesses to submit reports and track each case in real time.
The 0800 Green Line was also launched to allow citizens to report legal violations, encouraging public participation in territorial protection and law enforcement.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to advance the inspection reform, aiming to establish a modern, transparent, and effective system to safeguard the territory and public interest.
