New Aleksandër Moisiu University campus in Durrës to serve 1,700 students

TIRANA, March 3 /ATA/ – A new campus for the Faculty of Professional Studies under construction at Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës is part of the Albanian government drive to upgrade infrastructure at the country’s public higher education institutions.

The project, funded by the Ministry of Education, will serve 1,700 students and 80 academic staff, according to officials.

The development includes a modern facility with lecture halls, scientific laboratories, conference rooms and sports grounds, alongside recreational areas and green spaces. Once completed, the campus is expected to expand teaching and research capacity at the university.

Prime Minister Edi Rama on Tuesday shared images of the site, describing the project as an investment aimed at strengthening academic facilities and student services.

“The new Faculty of Professional Studies at Aleksandër Moisiu University, an investment of the Ministry of Education, completes the academic facilities with 45 lecture halls, 15 laboratories, conference rooms and sports facilities serving 1,700 students and 80 members of academic staff,” Rama said.

Further expansion is planned through the construction of a residential complex to house students from other regions, with authorities saying the goal is to create an integrated campus built to modern standards.
