Albania sets target for 1,600 startups by 2030, increased funding for new ventures

TIRANA, Feb 12 /ATA/ Albania aims to create 1,600 new startups by 2030 and double the existing ecosystem, with the objective of reaching 825 active startups within the country.
This objective is a key component of the “Albania 2030” program, which plans to significantly boost funding for new ventures. The aim is to support early-stage companies, when they are creating their products or services, as well as during their expansion phase, when they seek to grow, enter new markets, and increase their customer base.
The program is designed to enhance investment opportunities from entrepreneurial individuals and venture capital funds, providing startups with the essential resources to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, foster job creation, and drive economic and innovative growth within the country.
According to the plan, over 400 seed investment rounds and more than 20 expansion rounds are expected to be completed, along with increased investments from entrepreneurial individuals and venture capital funds.
The program also aims to position Albania as a regional leader in the number of startups in the field of artificial intelligence, strengthening the role of innovation and technology in the country’s economic development. /j.p/sm/
