TIRANA, Jan 23 /ATA/ – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Elisa Spiropali on Friday is attending a meeting of foreign ministers of the Balkan Peace Platform in Istanbul, at the invitation of her Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
The platform focuses on advancing regional cooperation in connectivity, economic development, energy security, European integration and regional peace.
Spiropali said that, in his capacity as a member of the Executive Board of Peace, Fidan outlined the importance of the newly established mechanism, created by U.S. President Donald Trump, aimed at building sustainable peace at a time of global challenges.
She said Albania was ready to assume its responsibilities as a founding member of the Board of Peace.
According to Spiropali, cooperation with Albania’s strategic allies, including the United States, and other partners could open a new chapter in efforts to resolve international conflicts.
Earlier, Spiropali held talks with Fidan on the growing strategic partnership between Albania and Türkiye, which is expected to gain further momentum with the third meeting of the High-Level Council for Intersectoral Cooperation between the two countries later this year.
