TIRANA, Jan 22 /ATA/ Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu on Thursday visited the training complex in Bizë/Pajet, a strategic investment designed to modernize and enhance the training capabilities of the Armed Forces, as well as to facilitate international exercises in accordance with NATO’s standards.
During the inspection, Minister Vengu was briefed on the infrastructure and functional capacities of the complex, which represents a new hub for the modernization of operational troop preparation and the enhancement of interoperability with international partners.
The training complex in Bizë/Pajet can accommodate up to 1,200 individuals and offers comprehensive facilities, including sleeping and dining arrangements, modern amenities, and other essential services. It ensures logistical and operational support for conducting long-duration and complex exercises.
Vengu highlighted that this investment is crucial for boosting the readiness of the Armed Forces and reinforcing cooperation with allies and strategic partners, positioning Albania as a proactive and reliable contributor to regional and international security.
This training complex will be operational for the main exercise of the Armed Forces, scheduled for September, aimed at certifying the Light Infantry Battalion according to NATO standards, as well as for bilateral and multinational exercises such as “Defender Europe 2027.”
