TIRANA, Jan 16 /ATA/ – Albanian startups will be eligible for government financial support and accompanying services aimed at helping them develop their businesses.
Support may be provided in several ways, including grants, equity financing, coverage of research and development costs, and technical services such as legal, financial and business consultancy. Startups may also gain access to research infrastructure and facilities to test new products or technologies.
A decision published in the Official Gazette approved the call for applications, setting out the requirements, criteria, procedures and deadlines that startups and their facilitators must meet to qualify for funding and other support measures. It also defines the composition of the evaluation and appeals committee, as well as the criteria for selection and remuneration of its members.
To qualify, startups must be registered in the electronic startups register and comply with additional conditions, including tax obligations.
Applications will be submitted through the government’s “e-Albania” digital platform. Applicants must provide the required documentation and indicate their stage of development, whether early-stage, validation or growth.
In addition to funding, startups may work with facilitators offering technical assistance and other services to help strengthen business capacity.
The Agency for Startup and Innovation Development will monitor funded projects to ensure they meet their stated objectives.
