TIRANA, Jan 12 /ATA/ – Snow has blanketed the mountainous areas of Elbasan, including Funar, Gjinar, and Labinot-Mal, turning them into picturesque winter landscapes and drawing large numbers of visitors over the weekend.
The snow-covered forests, hills, and partially frozen lakes offered a serene backdrop for families and tourists seeking a break from city life. Children enjoyed snowball fights, while adults explored the quiet, scenic surroundings.
Despite cold temperatures and heavy snowfall, roads to Funar, Gjinar, and Labinot-Mal remained open and passable with winter tires or chains, authorities said. Local officials were on hand to ensure safety and maintain the roads.

Gjinar, located 22 km from Elbasan, was among the busiest destinations over the weekend.
