Spiropali: Russian attack near EU and NATO borders poses a threat to European security

TIRANA, January 9/ATA/ Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Elisa Spiropali reacted today after Russia’s latest attack with intermediate-range ballistic missile on the Lviv region of Ukraine, near the border with Poland.

Spiropali wrote in the X platform that, “Albania strongly condemns Russia’s use of intermediate-range ballistic missile against Lviv region of Ukraine.”

“An attack this close to EU and NATO borders is a serious escalation that poses a direct threat to European and transatlantic security. Russia’s fabricated narratives reveal the aggressive nature of its actions,” the Foreign Minister stressed.

Spiropali called for strong international measures and greater pressure on Moscow, while adding that, “Albania remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine.”

Russia has used the Oreshnik ballistic missile as part of a fresh strike on Ukraine, the TASS news agency reported today, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense. This is the second attack on Ukraine involving this weapon. /gj.m/a.f/p.s./
