Police remove protesters’ tent outside Prime Minister’s Office

TIRANA, Jan 4 /ATA/ Verbal confrontations and heightened tensions were reported on Sunday in front of the Prime Minister’s office, as State Police moved in to remove a tent set up by supporters of Adriatik Lapaj’s “Shqipëria Bëhet” movement.

Adriatik Lapaj staged another protest on Sunday outside the Prime Minister’s office. During the midday rally, his supporters set up tents to ensure a “more comfortable overnight stay” as part of the continuous protest Lapaj launched on December 8.

Lapaj reacted strongly against the police, accusing them of acting under political influence. He further claimed that the authorities are unwilling to tolerate peaceful protesters and instead side with those who instigate violence.

After the protest ended, the tent was removed by the police, triggering violent clashes between activists and members of “Shqipëria Bëhet” and law enforcement officers.
