TIRANA, December 27 /ATA/ There is a festive atmosphere in the streets and squares of the city of Elbasan.
The “Hans-Dietrich Genscher” square, located between the centuries-old walls of the castle and its symbolic gate right in the heart of the city, has become the epicenter of the celebrations.
In this square, people like to take numerous snapshots among the festive decorations, especially during the evening hours.
Mayor of Elbasan Gledian Llatja told ATA that the festive atmosphere has started since the beginning of December, with a rich calendar of activities for all ages, making the city increasingly lively.
Local and foreign artists, dance groups, DJs and famous singers take to the stage in the square, creating an atmosphere that turns the city into a celebration open to all.
These holidays have become a very good opportunity to revitalize Elbasan and promote tourism. Many Elbasan citizens have decided to celebrate the New Year in tourist spots, but also in the city’s famous bars.
Director of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in the Elbasan municipality Artur Guni said that there is an increased influx of bookings this year-end in Gjinar, thanks to the comfortable conditions it offers.
According to him, the recently opened guesthouses, the numerous bars and investments in services have significantly influenced a greater interest in this picturesque tourist area.
There has been high demand registered for other tourist areas of the municipality, such as Funari, but also within the city of Elbasan, where local and foreign tourists have made reservations to enjoy nature, tranquility and the festive offer of the year-end.
According to data collected from hotels, tourist agencies and tourism operators in the municipality of Elbasan, the number of tourists so far, since August has reached about 11 thousand visitors. /k.s/j.p/r.e/p.s./
