TIRANA, Dec 20 /ATA/ – The number of home banking transactions in Albania reached 9.4 million from January to October 2025, marking an increase compared with the same period in 2024, the Bank of Albania reported on Saturday.
According to the central bank’s statistics, the total value of transactions also rose, hitting a record 2.3 billion lek.
The highest volume of home banking transactions, exceeding 1 billion leks, occurred during the summer season, coinciding with the peak arrival of tourists and foreign visitors in the country.
Home banking, also known as banking from home, allows users to make money transfers, pay taxes, utility bills, phone bills, traffic fines, credit card payments, and other services without visiting physical bank branches.
Clients can access these services from anywhere with an internet connection.
The growth in transactions conducted through online banking platforms reflects the ongoing digitalization of banking services, increasing financial inclusion, and enhancing transparency in financial operations.
