Rama on Berisha: An ultra-fanatic communist turned into conservative

TIRANA, December 19 /ATA/ Speaking at “Opinion” broadcast about the legacy left by communism in Albanian politics, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that the greatest damage is the fact that a part of the political class after the 1990s was not allowed to think differently.

Rama said that, “Not the opponent, but the other one in the party who has a different way of thinking must be eradicated, annihilated. This has led to the darkest legacy from the point of view of relations between one and the other from a political and social point of view. Thus, this other person continued to be considered an enemy. And the difference was that instead of being shot dead or imprisoned, there is mud, attacks, accusations, public degeneration of the other”, said Rama.

Referring to former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Rama said that, “It is related to the great misfortune that an ultra-fanatic communist, who turned into an ultra-fanatic conservative and making use of the language of hatred and with the techniques of degenerating others, turned the fight with any kind of opposition and with any kind of opponent into a method”.

Rama said that Fatos Nano, the historical leader of the Socialist Party, also came from that party, but he cannot be included in this category.

“But, Berisha has been the only consistent person who has embodied this negative radiation of communism. He uses the methods of degenerating the opponent. So, whoever appears in front of you and is not like you should be degenerated”, said Rama.
