PM Rama: Albania’s EU membership by 2030 ‘absolutely possible’

TIRANA, Dec. 10 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Wednesday that Albania’s accession to the European Union by 2030 is “absolutely possible,” emphasizing that the country’s path toward Europe is clear and deliberate.

Speaking at the “Tirana Economic Forum,” Rama said, “Europe 2030 is not a hope, it is a destination, and our compass points clearly toward the EU.”

“Negotiations are already underway, and chapters are progressing,” he said, stressing that the goal is realistic and achievable, provided that Europe keeps its commitments and Albania adheres to the agreed timeline.

“We are not here to wait for Europe; we are building Europe here. That is why we are so determined to follow this path,” Rama added.

The government head said Europe represents institutions, standards, and development, not only politics.

“Albania is entering a new chapter – both attractive and challenging – a chapter of modern development, trust, and European ambition. We have stability, momentum, a young society full of talent and energy. We have the map, the vision, and the will to move forward,” he said.
