TIRANA, Dec 9 /ATA/ – Albania’s State Police have brought a new Visual Monitoring Operations Centre fully online, the force said on Tuesday, calling it a key upgrade to criminal investigations and operational response.
State Police Director General Ilir Proda toured the facility together with Vikki Pullen, Deputy Director of the UK Home Office International Operations.
Proda praised the partnership with Great Britain in tackling organised crime and irregular migration, describing the centre as “a major investment that strengthens the quality of criminal proceedings and reflects mutual trust in the fight against organised crime.”
Pullen said the newly installed technology and software will boost the operational, technical and forensic capabilities of the Criminal Police Department, helping officers track and conclude criminal cases more effectively.
The centre will provide continuous intelligence support during special police operations, enhance detection and prevention capacities, and ensure high-quality forensic evidence and modern investigative techniques in line with current European standards. Staff have also undergone dedicated training as part of the UK-funded package.
