TIRANA, Dec 9 /ATA/ – Albania is aiming to increase U.S. investment, officials said on Tuesday during the “Investor Support Days 2025” initiative.
The event, organized by the Albanian Investment and Development Agency (AIDA) in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), brought together government representatives and US businesses to discuss new opportunities in strategic sectors including energy, tourism, technology, and professional services. Participants highlighted the potential of the Albanian market, simplified business procedures, and fully online services.
AIDA Executive Director Laura Saro stressed the importance of ongoing dialogue with the private sector and the agency’s commitment to addressing investor concerns.
Deputy Finance Minister Andi Mehmeti outlined Albania’s competitive advantages, including planned alignment of domestic legislation with European Union standards by 2027, economic stability, and support from the Western Balkans Growth Plan.
US business representatives offered recommendations to improve the investment climate, emphasizing the need for EU-aligned legislation, increased transparency, more effective public consultations, stronger anti-corruption measures, and a modernized business registration system.
The meeting was seen as a key step toward strengthening cooperation with roughly 140 U.S. companies operating in Albania and creating a more favorable environment for new investment.
