TIRANA, December 8/ATA/ Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro and Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu visited today the new campus of the Armed Forces Academy, a modern investment of 7600 m² that offers contemporary conditions for the training of future professionals of the Armed Forces.
The new campus includes high-tech classrooms, auditoriums, laboratories, a training area, a swimming pool, sports facilities and functional spaces of NATO standards, creating a complete academic and professional premises.
During the visit, Minister Kumbaro emphasized that this project, although not directly part of the budget of the Ministry of Education, remains a public investment in education, such as the budgets of vocational education, the School of Magistrates, or the revenues of the universities themselves.
For his part, Minister Vengu underlined the role of the new campus as a center of excellence in military and academic training, emphasizing that the new infrastructural and pedagogical standards will prepare capable cadres for national and international missions.
“We are in a situation where 80 percent of the work has been completed and in a situation where we have a very large number of registrations. This year we had a record number: 1630 applications for only 80 places”, said Vengu.
The minister assured that the new premises will be ready in February to start the bachelor and master programs.
Further in his speech, Minister Vengu explained that the students of this academy are treated with a fee during the study period and have the opportunity to specialize in prestigious academies in Europe and the United States.
This investment consolidates the role of the Armed Forces in national security education and sets a new standard for military education in Albania, as part of the vision of Euro-Atlantic integration and modernization of defense institutions. /m.m/r.e/ /a.g/p.s./
