Cross-border SEEDS project underway to boost creative industries

TIRANA, Dec 3 /ATA/ – Albania’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports on Wednesday launched SEEDS, a cross-border initiative designed to strengthen the cultural and creative industries in the southern Adriatic region.

Anisa Pollo, Director General for Art, Culture and Youth at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, said the project would help build regional cooperation and address gaps linking culture with entrepreneurship and the wider creative economy.

The project focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, providing professional training, developing new cultural governance models and building sustainable professional and institutional networks. It targets challenges linking culture with entrepreneurship and the creative economy in the southern Adriatic region.

Representatives from partner institutions, cultural professionals and local stakeholders from Albania, Italy and Montenegro attended the launch at the Sotir Kolea Centre in Tirana.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports is leading the project in cooperation with the National Theatre of Albania, the Public Theatre of Puglia, the Montenegrin Employers’ Federation and the Municipality of Agnone in Italy.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to support cultural and creative industries as an important driver of economic development and regional ties.
