Duka: Match versus Andorra, most important of qualifying edition, maximum commitment is required

TIRANA, November 12/ATA/ President of the Albanian Football Association Armand Duka appreciated the match versus Andorra for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers as one of the most important of this edition.

In a television interview, Duka said that the team must be fully focused to get the three points and keep alive the hope of qualifying for the play-off phase.

“For me, this is the most important match of the edition because this keeps alive our hope of playing the play-off matches in March”, emphasized Duka.

Duka said that, “Present-day Andorra is better than before. The team has a fighting spirit. Even England found it difficult the match versus Andorra, 0-1 in Andorra and 2-0 in England with an own-goal. So, it will be a difficult match for us, but I am very convinced that our team is aware of its significance. There is no room for self-satisfaction, but only for maximum commitment”.

“Of course, we have our plans, but we have focused more attention on tomorrow’s away match in Andorra. Let’s bring things to a close and don’t have to fight for the play-off phase in Tirana. Let the match at the “Air Albania” stadium in Tirana versus England be a dead rubber match for us and for England”, said Duka.

Albanian national team is currently ranked second with 11 points in Group K and a win over Andorra and Serbia’s loss to England in London would see Albania qualify for the play-offs phase.

Andorra vs Albania will be played on Thursday at 8.45 PM, a match in framework of World Cup Qualifiers, Group K.
