TIRANA, October 23/ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Andis Salla held a fruitful meeting with Caroline Boeshertz, Head of Unit A5 for International Bilateral Relations at DG SANTE (Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety at the European Commission), and her team.
They talked on the challenges and concrete steps to meet the terms of Chapter 12 Food Safety, one of the key chapters in the process of Albania’s accession to the European Union.
Minister Salla stressed the significance of this chapter in the integration process and the full commitment of the Albanian government to make all institutional and technical capacities available to this process, with the aim of approximating Albanian standards with those of the European Union.
On the other hand, Boeshertz reconfirmed support for Albania and the readiness to develop technical cooperation, through building of the human capacities and implementation of a joint work plan, which will guarantee sustainable progress towards European integration. /a.f/p.s./
