TIRANË, 22 tetor/ATSH/
The State Labor and Social Services Inspectorate welcomed a high-level delegation from Austria as part of a three-day visit aimed at exchanging experiences and providing technical support to strengthen the labor inspection system in Albania.

The Austrian delegation, composed of representatives from the Federal Ministry for Labour, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection, the Labor and Construction Inspectorate, and the Austrian Financial Police, focused on key topics such as the implementation and transposition of European directives on occupational safety and health, the national strategy for the 2025–2030 period, the use of technology and the MIRA system for risk-based inspection planning, as well as measures to combat the informal economy.

The parties discussed best practices and current challenges, while joint field inspections were carried out in the construction sector as part of institutional cooperation and support for strengthening the labor inspection system in Albania.

These inspections served as an opportunity to assess existing practices on the ground, share professional experiences, and provide concrete recommendations aimed at improving occupational safety and health in Albania.

This cooperation represents an important step toward advancing inspection standards in the country and aligning with the best European practices, contributing to the improvement of workplace conditions and the strengthening of institutions in accordance with the requirements and standards of the European Union. /j.p/r.e/sm/
