TIRANA, September 29/ATA/ During the graduation ceremony of the students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana this evening, Minister of Justice Besfort Lamallari called on the young people to see graduation as the beginning of a new path and to remain “students of life”, learning from every decision and experience.
He encouraged them not to be afraid to take initiatives, emphasizing that the “perfect moment” never comes, if they simply wait and see, and that conscience will be the best judge for each of them if they remain faithful to their values and beliefs.
Lamallari also focused on the Justice Reform, recalling that Albania has undertaken the most ambitious reform in this field, as an expression of the will of the Albanian people.
He said that the country is closer than ever to the EU, but there remains the need for improvements and consolidation of institutions.
The minister emphasized that his priorities include completing the justice reform package, improving the infrastructure of courts and prosecutors, modernizing the criminal and civil codes, and increasing the standards of treatment of the most vulnerable segments of society.
“Albania has carried out one of the most ambitious reforms, not only in the region, but also beyond, the Justice Reform, as an expression of the absolute will of the Albanian people. Today, Albania is not what it was 16 years ago. There is room for improvement and change, but it has never been so close to the EU. The priorities of the government program and the Ministry of Justice include completing the Justice Reform package, consolidating institutions, improving the infrastructure of courts and prosecutors, as well as developing new codes, criminal, civil and procedural, in order to create an integrated and functional legislation”, said Lamallari.
Emphasizing that, “Good things are done in team,” Lamallari invited the graduates to join the Ministry of Justice and the judicial system to serve the country and future generations with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. /j.p/p.s./
