TIRANA, Sept 6 /ATA/ – Albania has completed improvements along the Theth–Valbonë trail in the Albanian Alps, one of the country’s most popular hiking routes, used each year by thousands of domestic and foreign visitors.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said a day ago that the works were carried out by the National Agency of Protected Areas as part of a wider project in the Albanian Alps National Park.
The interventions cover 15 kilometres of the trail and include new orientation signs, panoramic viewing platforms, rest areas and recreational zones.
Rama said the project aims to offer “an enhanced experience for all visitors,” while ensuring better infrastructure and safety along the mountainous route.
Established to protect the rich alpine flora and fauna, the Albanian Alps National Park is a leading destination for hiking, mountaineering and eco-tourism. The project also seeks to promote sustainable tourism development in the region.
