TIRANA, Aug 17 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Sunday shared images of the Shala River, highlighting the growing appeal of the northern Albanian destination to both domestic and foreign tourists.
Shala River, a fabulous tourist destination in the northern Alps, has been described as Albania’s Thailand by a growing number of international visitors.
Flowing into Lake Koman, the 37-kilometer Shala River is known for its deep blue waters and dramatic alpine setting.
Visitors can explore the area by boat, hike to surrounding peaks with panoramic views, swim in the river’s cool waters, and enjoy traditional cuisine at guesthouses along its banks.
The river, which springs from the base of the Albanian Alps, is home to diverse fish species, most notably trout found only in freshwater. Its steep cliffs and striking color make it one of the country’s standout natural attractions.
