PM Rama: Urban Renaissance 2.0 to transform city areas into high-quality community spaces

TIRANA, Aug 14 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama stated Thursday that a nationwide campaign to reclaim public spaces is part of a four-year program called “Urban Renaissance 2.0,” aimed at transforming city areas into high-quality community spaces.

The government head shared social media images of the dismantling of another metal structure that had occupied public space, emphasizing that the initiative is part of a broader, long-term program rather than a one-off action.

“Some delay voluntary dismantling thinking the operation will end, but this is a four-year program. It continues with the rehabilitation and transformation of public spaces into quality community coexistence areas,” Rama said.

The Premier warned businesses that failure to remove structures voluntarily will result not only in their removal but also in fines.

Urban Renaissance 2.0 is seen as part of a wider effort to improve public services and business functionality in line with national hospitality and service standards, both in tourist zones and across the country.

The campaign, launched in early July, is expected to remain a priority for central and local authorities in enhancing community living standards.
