GJIROKASTËR, Aug 9 /ATA/ – The hilltop castle of Gjirokastër, southern Albania, hosted the sixth edition of “Çeço Fest” this weekend, drawing hundreds of young people and tourists for two days of electronic music performances.
Tourism Minister Mirela Kumbaro shared footage of the event on social media on Saturday, saying the medieval fortress “echoed last night with the sounds of Çeço Fest” as DJs played in the castle overlooking the UNESCO-listed city.
Gjirokastër Mayor Flamur Golemi described it as “another unforgettable weekend” in the stone city, adding that summer in the region continues “with rhythm, energy and emotion.”
Organisers said the festival, blending modern beats with the city’s historic setting, aims to offer an immersive cultural experience combining tradition and contemporary music trends.
