TIRANA, August 7 /ATA/ After coordinated intervention from the air and ground, the fire situation in Finiq is moving towards normalization.
An Air Force helicopter intervened from the air, while a team of 28 workers with 8 firefighting vehicles from the Municipal Fire Departments of Finiq, Saranda, Delvina, Konispol, Gjirokastra and Dropull were deployed from the ground.
30 troops of the Armed Forces, 3 additional firefighters, 5 forest service employees, as well as 40 volunteer forces also participated in the operation.
Currently, the work on the ground continues with intensity to eliminate any potential hearth that may be reactivated in the coming hours, especially in the villages of Dhivër, Shëndre and Cerkovica.
Meanwhile, the local residents are gradually returning to their homes.
The authorities appealed for maximum vigilance during the coming hours to avoid of restart of the fires. /r.e/p.s./
