Paolucci: World Bank committed to maximizing its impact on Albania’s growth

TIRANA, July 25 /ATA/- Massimiliano Paolucci, the newly appointed manager of the World Bank Group Office in Albania, expressed his enthusiasm and pride in supporting the country’s ongoing development efforts.

In a video message shared on social media, Paolucci reflected on his first weeks in Albania, highlighting his eagerness to learn more about the country’s rich natural and cultural heritage alongside his family. He praised the remarkable transformation Albania is undergoing, attributing it to the energy, determination, and hard work of its people.

Paolucci also emphasized a significant organizational step taken by the World Bank Group in Albania: the integration of the World Bank Office, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) into a single, unified team. This consolidation aims to enable closer collaboration with partners and provide more integrated, rapid responses to Albania’s development priorities, particularly as the country advances toward European Union membership.

“The unified approach helps us deliver comprehensive solutions that address both public and private sector challenges,” Paolucci explained. “By mobilizing private capital alongside public initiatives, we seek to maximize our impact – supporting job creation and enhancing Albania’s economic resilience.”

Looking ahead, Paolucci expressed his eagerness to collaborate closely with the Albanian government, various civil society groups, development partners, and especially the private sector to unlock new opportunities and deliver broad-based benefits for the country.
