Secondary school in Elbasan renovated, access expanded for over 650 students

TIRANA, July 21 /ATA/ – The “Konstandin Kristoforidhi” secondary school in central Albanian city of Elbasan has reopened after undergoing a full renovation, offering upgraded facilities for more than 650 students and teachers.

The overhaul of the “Kostandin Kristoforidhi” high school in Elbasan was funded jointly by the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Municipality of Elbasan.

The project includes 14 new classrooms, modern laboratories, and a new gym with an integrated sports field.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said Monday that the investment is part of a broader national program to modernize education infrastructure and improve teaching quality.

He added that the sports areas will also be open to the local community outside school hours, aiming to turn the campus into a broader youth activity center.

“The revitalized Kostandin Kristoforidhi high school in Elbasan is a modern learning environment for over 650 students, with 14 new classrooms, labs, a gym, and sports fields. This modernized school serves not only the education system but also the wider community,” PM Rama said.

The renovation is one of several projects underway as Albania seeks to align its educational facilities with European standards.
