TIRANA, July 17 /ATA/ Tirana International Airport reports a steady upward trend in air traffic in Albania.
According to data published by TIA, during June 2025 alone, Tirana International Airport welcomed 1,147,866 passengers, marking a significant increase compared to May.
This period saw an estimated 6,830 flights connecting Tirana to 103 destinations across 31 countries, served by 27 airlines operating at the airport.
Italian and British cities remain the top travel destinations, with Milan, London, Rome, Bologna, and Venice being the most popular among passengers.
In addition to the increasing passenger numbers, TIA has also added new direct routes during the April–June 2025 period, strengthening connections with new European destinations. The new routes include Nantes and Bordeaux in France, Larnaca in Cyprus, as well as Málaga and Malta.
TIA continues to prioritize the expansion of regional routes and the improvement of passenger services.
The airport is ready for the summer peak season, with passenger volumes anticipated to exceed last year’s figures. Thanks to the influx of international tourists and outbound travel by Albanian vacationers, TIA has become one of the fastest-growing airports in the region in terms of air traffic over the past two years. /j.p/sm/
