TIRANA, July 1 /ATA/ – Albania’s economic sentiment index decreased by 2.2 percentage points (pp) in June to around 6.4 pp above the long-term average, after increasing by 1.1 pp in May, the Bank of Albania said on Tuesday.
According to central bank, the Industry Confidence Indicator (ICI) drooped by 2.3 percentage points in June 2025, mainly on the back of less optimistic appraisals on industrial production and the declining expectations on order books from exports.
The current level of ICI stands 6 percentage points above the historical average. In June 2025, businesses operating in this sector lowered their expectations on employment in the future, while expectations on prices of goods they will produce in the future remained unchanged.
Construction Confidence Indicator (BCI) increased by 1.6 percentage points in June. Its current level scores 15.4 percentage points above the long-term average. The higher appraisals of businesses on the current construction activity fuelled the increase in BCI. Expectations for selling prices and employment in the future have been assessed as trending down.
Services Confidence Indicator (SCI) posed a fall of 5 percentage points in June 2025. However, the SCI stands around 11 percentage points above the long-term average. The decline in the SCI reflected the less optimistic appraisals of services-related business on both current performance of their activity and current level of demand. Expectations on employment in the future are revised downwards, while exceptions on prices in the future are revised upwards.
Trade Confidence Indicator (TBT) remained broadly unchanged from the previous month. The current level of TCI scores around 6 percentage points above the historical average.
Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI) remained almost unchanged form a month earlier, standing around 2.5 percentage points above the historical average level.
