TIRANA, July 1 /ATA/ – Albania opened its second edition of “Public Administration Week 2025” on Tuesday with a forum focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation, marking the start of a national initiative to train 600 civil servants in the use of AI.
The event, organized by the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption, Adea Pirdeni, in cooperation with the National Agency for Information Society (AKSHI), included the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and the policy platform Apolitical.
The program aims to train 100 senior officials and 500 mid-level and executive staff in the practical use of AI to improve public services and institutional efficiency.
“AI is no longer optional – it’s a necessity. This initiative ensures that our administration is equipped to use AI responsibly and effectively,” Pirdeni said.
Linda Karçanaj, head of AKSHI, announced the launch of a national “Government AI Campus,” describing it as one of the first such programs in the region. She emphasized its focus on real-world applications in citizen services and on building a responsible, forward-looking digital administration.
The week-long event will include a series of activities focused on modernizing public services and fostering innovation in governance.
