PM Rama: Albania supports Trump’s efforts to prevent Tehran from ever acquiring nuclear weapons

TIRANË, June 22 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama has expressed strong support for U.S. action against Iran’s nuclear sites, calling the Tehran regime a unique threat that should never be allowed nuclear weapons.

In a statement on the social media on Sunday, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that U.S. had completed strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities; Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, PM Rama accused Iran’s theocracy of promoting apocalyptic rhetoric and calling for the destruction of Western nations.

“This is not just another nuclear state, nor merely a dictatorship with nuclear ambitions. This is a theocracy—armed with apocalyptic rhetoric, steeped in endless years of branding free nations as “Satanic,” and openly calling for their annihilation,” Rama wrote on the social media platform X

“By every measure, it is a singular aberration—unlike any nuclear-armed state, regardless of political system,” he added.

Rama emphasized Albania’s alignment with President Donald Trump’s efforts, citing Albania’s history under dictatorship and its partnership with the U.S.

“As a nation that emerged from the abyss of a brutal atheocratic regime, as a proud member of the free world, and as a strategic partner of the United States, Albania stands firmly behind President Trump’s genuine efforts to prevent the theocratic regime in Tehran from ever acquiring nuclear weapons,” the government head stated.
