TIRANA, June 17 /ATA/ The Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, stated that Albania will sign on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding with Montenegro, which will have a positive bilateral impact in terms of coordinated regional action on justice-related matters.

Speaking at the Consultative Forum of General and Special Prosecutors of the Western Balkans, held in Tirana, Çela emphasized that the event will contribute to providing an overview of the situation, while pinpointing the challenges, and looking into opportunities for improvement.

In his remarks, the Prosecutor General emphasized the need to clearly define the trajectory to be followed regarding regional cooperation on justice matters.

“For Albania and beyond, the results so far are indicative of significant progress made, meaning that our justice systems are on the right path towards standardization and harmonization as part of their EU accession journey,” Çela affirmed.

Prosecutor General Çela stated that this forum confirms the institutional will to contribute to the country’s integration process.
“We are aware that our work, especially in the regional context, is closely linked to this process, and this project has laid the foundations for a stronger, safer integration, bringing us closer to the European family,” Çela said.
