TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ – On World Environment Day, we gathered in Shkodra to highlight one of the most precious and threatened resources: rivers.
The EU Delegation to Albania said on Saturday through the EU-funded EU4Rivers project, the European Union is supporting Albania in protecting water resources, improving monitoring, and raising environmental awareness.
Activities included live water sampling on the Buna River and Lake Shkodra, using professional monitoring equipment.
“Students from the University of Shkodra shared their ideas on sustainable water management. Youth and NGOs joined interactive sessions on pollution, plastic waste, and cross-border environmental efforts,” the EU Delegation said.
“Clean rivers mean a healthier environment for us and generations to come,” the Delegation said, calling for their protection.
