TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ The Han i Hotit border checkpoint has already seen the arrival of the first group of foreign and local holidaymakers choosing to visit Albania this summer season. This growing influx highlights the noticeable increase in the country’s appeal as a favored tourist destination across Europe.
According to official data, Albania continues to lead Europe in terms of growth in tourist flows, with an impressive increase of 136% compared to the pre-COVID-19 pandemic period. This positive trend reflects a successful transformation of the country’s tourism image and an expansion of its hospitality capacity.
Customs and police authorities at this Border Customs Point have taken all necessary measures to handle the increased traffic, ensuring a fast and secure process for visitor entry. Tourists passing through this checkpoint mainly come from neighbouring countries and Central Europe, taking advantage of the natural and cultural opportunities that Albania offers.
In the coming months, the flow of tourists is expected to increase further, while tour operators and accommodation facilities are already fully prepared to provide quality services and meet visitors’ expectations.
During the first four months of 2025, Albania welcomed over 2.45 million foreign tourists.
