TIRANA, May 27/ATA/ The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has completed the investigations into the CEZ-DIA file, the lobbying of the ex-Socialist Movement for Integration party (SMI) in the USA and the wealth investigation against Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi.
The ex-couple, Meta and Kryemadhi have been under SPAK investigation for three criminal offenses: “Criminal offense and activity”, “Passive corruption of high-ranking state officials”, “Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment and false declaration of wealth and private interests”.
In his reaction in the social media, the current Chairman of the Freedom Party Ilir Meta said that, “I welcome the end of the prolonged investigative farce by SPAK due to the elections, started in December 2019 by Altin Dumani”.
“I eagerly await the start of the trial of this process,” said Meta, adding that, “Begining from today, we start the dismantling of this investigative farce that seeks to shift attention from the terrible electoral crimes.”
Meanwhile, Monika Kryemadhi, said in a statement to reporters in front of the SPAK, that, “The same charges have been communicated to me.”
We recall that Ilir Meta was detained in October last year and the Special Court of Corruption and Organized Crime imposed the measure of “arrest with imprisonment.” For Kryemadhi, there was imposed the measure of “compulsory appearance”. /a.f/r.e/p.s./
