TIRANA, May 23/ATA/ Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Elisa Spiropali met today with Speaker of the Greek Parliament Nikitas M. Kaklamanis.
During her stay in Ioannina, within the framework of the 19th Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, Spiropali held a bilateral meeting with her counterpart Kaklamanis.
Spiropali highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries and our peoples, Greece’s support for Albania’s membership in the European Union, the Albanians in Greece and the Greek minority in Albania as bridges of friendship and strengthening of Parliamentary cooperation as the engine of bilateral relations.
Spiropali thanked Speaker Kaklamanis for the successful leadership of the Greek Presidency of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative and underlined the contribution of the Albanian Parliament to this important regional, strategic initiative for peace, cooperation and European integration. /r.e/p.s./
