TIRANA, May 21/ATA/ Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj received today Director of the Western Balkans Division at the World Bank Xiaoqing Yu.
During the meeting, Minister Malaj praised the fruitful cooperation between Albanian institutions and the World Bank, especially in supporting the development of priority sectors of the economy.
“The cooperation portfolio with the World Bank carries a number of important financial instruments, among which the budget support”, stated Malaj.
He emphasized that through this instrument we managed to get the Second Development Policy Loan for Albania, worth 120 million USD, a significant support for structural reforms and promotion of sustainable development.
According to Minister Malaj, our further cooperation is focused on development of the renewable energy sector, increasing energy efficiency, environmental protection and reduction of carbon emissions, in line with Albania’s commitments to a green and sustainable economy. /p.s./
