Tarran visits out-of-country voting center with Celibashi

TIRANA, May 7 /ATA/ The OSCE Ambassador in Tirana Michel Tarran, along with State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, visited the out-of-country voting center of the Central Election Commission today.
Jona Josifi, Director of Out-of-Country Voting, walked him through the full process —from the arrival of the ballots, the opening of envelopes, and the sorting of materials into the respective ballot boxes to be counted after the voting concludes in Albania, simultaneously with the rest of the votes.
In an interview with the public broadcaster, the ambassador said he was highly impressed by the level of professionalism demonstrated in the organization of the out-of-country vote collection.
Regarding ballot secrecy, Tarran raised no concerns about the Central Election Commission’s operations, but highlighted that the responsibility for ensuring the secrecy of the vote lies primarily with the voters themselves, especially those voting from abroad.
