Tourist Influx, Rama: Special investment to ensure high-quality drinking water supply in Saranda

TIRANA, May 3 /ATA/ PM, also the SP chairman, Edi Rama, held a wrap-up electoral meeting on Saturday in Saranda.

Prime Minister Rama started his speech by commending the work of Saranda’s mayor, Oltion Çaçi.

“Over the past two years that I’ve visited, I’ve seen not just new construction sites, but also a dedicated individual and an increasingly vibrant city,” said Rama.

Rama discussed the government’s 2015 investment in Saranda’s water system, noting that while situation has improved in other areas, Saranda faces increased demand due to rising consumer numbers. He highlighted that while the supply remains steady for residents, it declines with the influx of tourists.

This, Rama emphasized, “means that we have no other option but to reinvest and make a major, special investment for this entire area. Meanwhile, what we are seeing are new projects from investors and architects that will greatly improve the quality of tourism in Saranda, but at the same time, they signal the arrival of even more and bigger numbers of tourists and visitors, which undoubtedly means much more economic growth, much higher revenues, and significantly more investments from the municipality.”

Rama emphasized that the increased demand for drinking water during peak season requires a higher level of responsibility, ensuring a continuous, high-quality water supply beyond limited hours.
