Crime suspect extradited from Dubai to face double murder charges

TIRANA, May 2 /ATA/ – Albania’s State Police announced Friday that a suspect linked to an organized group has been extradited from Dubai as part of an international operation codenamed “The Wanted.”

According to State Police, the suspect, Florenc Çapja, will face charges in a high-profile double murder case as he is accused of killing a father and son in the Albanian central city of Elbasan in 2012.

State Police said that the operation was finalized through the information exchange and coordination of actions between the partner law enforcement agencies and the INTERPOL structures.

Police said the case is part of broader investigations into organized crime and cross-border criminal activities.

Çapja, 44, is related to a convicted crime boss and faces life imprisonment if convicted.

Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution (SPAK) has also seized assets connected to the alleged network.
