TIRANA, May 2/ATA/ President of the Republic Bajram Begaj received today in a solemn ceremony the King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
The Jordanian King is paying an official visit to Albania today at the invitation of the President of the Republic.
President Begaj held a tête-à-tête meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
Later on, the leaders of the two states were joined by their respective delegations in a special meeting.
The President’s Office provided details from the meeting between President Begaj and King of Jordan, Abdullah II.
During the meeting, the interlocutors talked on increasing political dialogue and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Begaj and Abdullah II shared the will to promote cooperation further.
Begaj emphasized that it is important to increase trade exchanges and Jordanian investments in Albania.
Also, Begaj highlighted the fact that Jordan has supported Kosovo for new recognitions and entry into international organizations.
Albania, Begaj added, supports the opening of a NATO liaison office in Jordan.
Begaj underlined that Jordan is an important partner country on the southern flank of NATO.
Also, the Head of State stated that the Aqaba Process is a successful initiative in the fight against terrorism.
Begaj appreciated that Jordan is a strong pillar of stability while he called for more cooperation in defense and security.
Begaj said that Albania appreciates Jordan’s key role for peace and stability in the Middle East. Regarding the conflict in the Middle East, Begaj and Abdullah II shared the view that the two-state solution is the only right path. /a.f/r.e/p.s./
