TIRANA, April 14/ATA/ Albania opened today the second cluster of negotiations with the European Union – “Internal Market” in Luxembourg where the fourth Albania – EU intergovernmental conference was held.
During the press conference after the fourth intergovernmental conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his condolences to the Ukrainian people following the Russian attacks.
“Let me join you in expressing condolences to our Ukrainian friends and I share every word that you have said so eloquently about what has happened not far from here on European soil as an undeniable crime”, said Rama.
“Exactly 6 months ago I was standing here in this hall after we opened the negotiations for cluster 1. We came back later and opened the negotiations for cluster 6 and today we are here again to move forward with cluster 2 “Internal Market””, emphasized the head of government.
“I cannot, but express words of gratitude to Polish Presidency, for its stable leadership and unwavering commitment to move this process forward”, said Rama
“We are absolutely grateful to every EU member states for their support in achieving this in such a smooth manner that it really seems something that is surprising to us, considering where we come from, from long battles for a long time”, said Rama.
The prime minister also thanked the European Commission and Commissioner Marta Kos, who, he emphasized, “Once she used to break records and become a champion of her country and now she has become the chronometer of our countries, one who keeps time, who maintains the rhythm and who ensures that every movement goes forward with discipline and purpose”.
Rama emphasized that, “Together with Commission and under Marta’s very disciplined leadership, we have agreed on a very ambitious agenda. We are looking forward to ensure together that by 2027 all the clusters are not only opened, but also end”.
“It is truly super ambitious, but we are here today to reconfirm our strong will, our determination and our full passion to achieve this objective”, said Rama. /j.p/p.s./
