TIRANA, April 2/ATA/ Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ilirjan Celibashi stated today during a conversation with journalists that the value of the contract between the CEC and the postal service operator for the Diaspora vote is 9.2 million euros.
“For the voting process from abroad, we have already fixed the postal service operator. It will be the DHL company that will carry out the service of sending ballot papers to voters and return them back to the CEC. Voters will not pay for this service, the cost is paid by the state budget, while the value of the contract with this operator is 9.2 million euros, with an average price of 37.52 euros for each return ballot paper”, said Celibashi.
Chief Commissioner Celibashi confirmed that a contract between the CEC and this operator is expected to be formalized today, while emphasizing that the process of printing ballots for voters from abroad has already begun. “From the communication we have with the Slovenian company that is producing ballots both inside and outside the country, we have started printing ballot papers for the Diaspora abroad”, he underlined.
“Around April 7-8 we will have the ballots here for voting from abroad, while on April 8-9-10 we will start preparing envelopes and all documentation for voters abroad, hoping that this process will be completed by April 15 or 17, at the latest. Afterwards, there will be enough time to return them to the CEC by 19:00 on May 11”, said Celibashi. /j.p/p.s./
