TIRANA, April 2/ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha participated today in the ceremony in honor of the 4 martyrs who were killed by the communist regime on April 2, 1991, in Shkodra: Arben Broci, Bujar Bishanaku, Nazmi Kryeziu and Besnik Ceka.
Berisha reminded in his speech that, “On April 2, 1991, the regime of Ramiz Alia used violence to suppress the citizens’ demands for freedom. 4 people died on that day, but remained immortal. Therefore, they are today a source of inspiration for every citizen who believes in freedom and its vote. The martyrs of April 2 are a great inspiration for every citizen to sacrifice for freedom and its vote”.
We, Berisha continued, “mark this day today in the threshold of an event that will divide the ages”.
“Because once again we remind and honor their deed, their sublime sacrifice in a dictatorship, which is no longer based on the ideology of the former Party Committee, but is based on the ideology of crime, of terror”, said Berisha.
The DP leader underlined the significance of May 11 elections, describing it as a historic day that would separate the era of dictatorship and poverty from that of freedom and well-being.
Berisha called for May 11 to mark the turning point towards a prosperous Albania, led by a state of the rule of law and freedom.
Berisha presented a new project for Albania, focused on the fight against corruption and crime, as well as on the creation of a state that guarantees well-being and constant development for its citizens.
The DP leader concluded his speech by honoring the martyrs of April 2 and emphasized the immortal freedom and human dignity. /k.s/j.p/r.e/p.s./
