TIRANA, March 31/ATA/ After 14 years of emigration to Greece, Ismet Lile returned home in the village of Katundishte in Këlcyra, where he and his daughter invested in grandfather’s old house, turning it into a beautiful guesthouse that at present hosts hundreds of visitors.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared in the social media Ismet Lile’s appeal to young people to return and invest in Albania.
“They are another inspiring example of how two generations, father and daughter, returned to the old roots of the family, keeping alive not only childhood memories, but above all building a secure economic future, which, as Ismet puts it, is much better than in foreign land,” Rama said.
Ismet said that he emigrated to Greece for about 14 years, and then decided to return to the city of Këlcyra, where he opened a bar-cafe business.
Ismeti continued this business for 20 years in Këlcyra and then decided to rebuild his parents’ house in the village of Katundisht.
“After a few years, I turned my house into a guesthouse. We welcomed all the people who came to our guesthouse with traditional dishes. We saw that there were many visitors and requests. I have two daughters and one of my daughters invested in the house,” he said.
Ismeti appealed to young people to return to invest in their homeland, while saying that life here is much better than in emigration.
“We need more people to return, the country needs them. We can’t do it all alone. Someone needs to deal with livestock, someone with poultry, someone with agriculture. I call on all the young people who have left the village of Katundisht to come back and build their grandparents’ houses because life here is much better than in foreign land,” he said. /m.m//a.f/p.s./
