TIRANA, March 23/ATA/ The sailing of international sea transport ships for passengers and vehicles on the Vlora – Brindisi – Vlora line has been canceled until Monday evening.
Due to bad weather, the sailing of fishing vessels and small boats is also prohibited until March 25, in the morning, when the weather is expected to improve.
There have also been imposed security measures in the port of Durrës.
General Maritime Directorate said that severe weather conditions will affect sailings for several sea lines.
On Sunday, March 23, 2025, there will be a suspension of sailings due to the deteriorating weather and sea waves.
General Maritime Directorate said that:
“According to weather forecast, all Albanian coast, starting from 08:00 on 23.03.2025, will be affected by strong winds blowing at a speed of up to 25-40m/s and wave heights from 2.50 to 4.50 meters.
In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to the weather conditions, we request the cooperation of all entities that exercise activities in the maritime field, to take all necessary measures to secure the vessels in the port and increase the readiness of the crew on the vessels.”
Meanwhile, the ferries on the Saranda-Corfu-Saranda line will continue to operate normally. /p.s./
